Responsible - Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

How Difficult is it to be Decent ?

In the current challenging economic climate corporate social responsibility can fast become one of the first casualties when businesses strive to maintain their profitability.
However, those businesses that continue to innovate and inspire their staff, customers and the wider community, will come through these difficult times stronger and more efficient. Bates Office will be one of these companies.
We have a vision of Bates Office being the 'industry beacon' of sustainablity and social responsibility, we hope that the realisation of this will make us both the employer and the supplier of choice.
Bates Office works closely with the local community, giving young and old long term unemployed a chance to enter the labour market, we currently have members of staff on the governments apprentice scheme and at the opposite end of the spectrum work with the Princes Initiative for Mature Enterprise (PRIME), which helps over 50's get back to work.
Bates Office unconditionally supports a designated national charity, the NSPCC as well as a regional charity based in Stoke, The Donna Louise Childrens Hospice trust.
In addition to this Bates Office, through our Charity Price Pledge, makes an annual donation to all charities who are customers of the company.
Other CSR initiatives include, annual sponsorship of large charity festival; providing prizes and judging competitions run by local Education Business Partnerships and sponsoring football and cricket teams run for deprived children.
If you have any suggestions for how Bates Office can extend their support for the community please email us at csr@Batesoffice.co.uk and your request will be considered by our 'Brighter Thinking' committee.
